An atypically busy Monday
Because of the night-time activities on July 4th, we had a bit less active weekend than normal. So, today, instead of the normal errands and chores, I decided to keep the kids busy with a variety of activities. And, of course, document it so it looks like I do this kind of stuff all the time. *grin*
The kids actually played for a while. They had some game that involved running around from spot to spot and huddling up for a conversation. I couldn't follow any of it, but it went on for about an hour and a half. During that time, I did get a few things done. Around the time their interest started to wane, I put on a Cosmic Kids Yoga for them.

This story started with them in bed, first thing in the morning.
They were supposed to get up and stretch awake, but Walter decided he wanted to keep sleeping.
I love how the yoga holds their attention.
After yoga, I offered to let the kids paint. We got a few new paint supplies a couple weeks ago and now have palettes and a huge selection of colors. Plus, we've been getting the easels back out, which makes it more fun.
Gordon decided he just wanted to color and do stickers.
Adele and Walter got right to the art.
Gordon decided it looked too fun to pass up.
After lunch, I loaded the kids in the car to drive up to the entrance of our neighborhood. There's a huge splash pad and playground there. The weather is perfect because it is only in the high 90's, so very comfortable in the shade. And we had the place to ourselves.
Walter was super excited to play with this device. It shoots out water and swivels around. He liked soaking me.
Adele ran around for a LONG time.
Gordon got wet on the splash pad, then headed straight to the sand.
Walter loves bringing buckets of water to the holes he digs. I like this shot with the bucket suspended in the air, mid-drop.
Walter filling up his bucket.
Adele
It really was fun having the place to ourselves for once!
I told Walter he was an American Ninja Warrior. We saw that show for the first time this weekend.
Adele and Walter were being scary spiders climbing up the webbing.
The boys kept trading off -- I'm walking high! Now, I'm walking low! Now, I'm high!
Little girl explaining to me that she's a scary lion and I'm supposed to come visit her house.
Three scary lions roaring at me!
We hit up the fun swing before heading home to shower, snack, and watch tv.
