Opening gifts from Santa -- Tag Junior readers. Wow!
Adele figured out how to work her Tag Jr right away
The kids all loved the new Fisher Price little people animals their cousins sent.
Adele's new best friend, the elephant. It (and its twin) went with her everywhere, all day.
Walter was the KING of opening gifts. He kept bringing me present after present to help him open
Adele opening a gift from Grandma & Grandpa S (with help from best-friend-elephant)
The new Fisher Price Little People Zoo train (sent by their cousins) was a HUGE hit
Walt discovering the star on top of the tree
Dad was here, too! He just spent most of his time on the other side of the camera. (Because of course he was here!)
Opening one of our gifts from Grandma Elaine & Grandpa Wayne (a HUGE hit in the bath later that night.)
Walt just loved unveiling all the new toys
Gordon liked taking his time to play with each toy
Adele (and elephant) were giving me hugs from behind
Gordon stacking blocks, a present from Grandma and Grandpa S.
Gordon opened only one gift all day. He really had little interest in the actual opening process. But I managed to catch his one gift opening on video.
Today was a lousy day. The kids were up and down all night, we've been sick for weeks, and this was my first day with the kids on my own since my parents left. All of that would've been fine, but the kids were very needy and in lousy moods themselves. So I had no patience with it any of it at the time it was all unfolding. There wasn't much I could do about that.
But then Jeff got home early (i.e he was here when the kids got out of their baths) and the kids went nuts to see him. He was patient and played with them and gave me lots of sympathy and support. Plus, Adele has been super sweet and cute for a couple weeks now. We were able to end the day on a good note. And we had some good, good moments. I'm holding onto those and letting go of the rest.
This photo was from yesterday. I love how Adele is offering me a drink.
Re-discovering the joy of an old toy.
Walt kept hugging his bear, then looking up at me with a big smile and saying "bear."
Adele and Walt situated themselves in the chairs like this, covering themselves with their blankets. Too cute!
The kids were playing a game in the bathroom and I love how Adele is so worried about Gordon and tries to get him to catch up. Later, after bath, Adele and Walt were playing again. Walt was so happy about it, he reached out and spontaneously gave Adele a big hug. Melted my heart! I wish I could've gotten that on video.
The kids are having fun learning new words and activities every day. These videos really capture how much they've grown just in the last couple of weeks.
Walt loves going up and down the slide at playgroup.
Gordon was fascinated by the Christmas tree and kept saying "Christmas Tree."
Adele loves the new elephant our dear friend Amy made and carries it around with her everywhere.
They love when the neighbor boys come over and help them invent new games.
