Putting things in perspective
Today was a lousy day. The kids were up and down all night, we've been sick for weeks, and this was my first day with the kids on my own since my parents left. All of that would've been fine, but the kids were very needy and in lousy moods themselves. So I had no patience with it any of it at the time it was all unfolding. There wasn't much I could do about that.
But then Jeff got home early (i.e he was here when the kids got out of their baths) and the kids went nuts to see him. He was patient and played with them and gave me lots of sympathy and support. Plus, Adele has been super sweet and cute for a couple weeks now. We were able to end the day on a good note. And we had some good, good moments. I'm holding onto those and letting go of the rest.
This photo was from yesterday. I love how Adele is offering me a drink.
Re-discovering the joy of an old toy.
Walt kept hugging his bear, then looking up at me with a big smile and saying "bear."
Adele and Walt situated themselves in the chairs like this, covering themselves with their blankets. Too cute!
The kids were playing a game in the bathroom and I love how Adele is so worried about Gordon and tries to get him to catch up. Later, after bath, Adele and Walt were playing again. Walt was so happy about it, he reached out and spontaneously gave Adele a big hug. Melted my heart! I wish I could've gotten that on video.
