It is May already?
Holy cow! I can't believe we've already passed the 1st of May. Tomorrow the kids will be officially 19 months old. These past two months have passed so quickly. The kids are set on 'go' the whole time they are awake.
Big news! We have a doctor. The local doctor's practice is full, but the woman who works the office said she'd talk to them about taking us on. We had to wait almost 2 weeks to hear back, but they agreed. Now we are just waiting for the nurse to call to find out when we need to come in for our next vaccines.
Walt loves to practice going up and down steps. He scares the crap out of me when he finds a really steep step and shows no fear. *sigh* Verbally, he still only says 'mama' and 'dada'. But he is SO steady on his feet. And he loves to sing, dance, and play ball. He also is my best buddy during the day. If I leave the room, he's right behind me to see what I"m up to. If I sit down to play with a toy, he comes over immediately to play, too.
Gordon is going through a tough phase. I'm starting to wonder if he might be teething. It would be a little early for his 2-year molars, but it would explain a lot of his behavior. Gordon is getting SO verbal. He repeats lots of words. Right now his favorite words (in context) are 'ball' and 'bowl.' He loves to carry small bowls around in his hands and then spin them on the floor.
Adele's newest word is "Elmo." She discovered two Elmo plush toys and decided they would be her new crib buddies. And her favorite video is called "Best of Elmo." It was sent by Grandpa Sterzinger. She is walking so well compared to earlier. She actually walks first and crawls second now. She is still pretty unsteady compared to the boys, but they've been walking much longer than her. Adele loves to sing. She plops herself into the easy chair in the playroom, gets on her hands and knees to bounce, and sings away. Sometimes when music is playing and sometimes on her own. She especially likes the long notes at the end of verses.
Adele woke feeling poorly this morning.
A little fresh air made her feel a lot better!
This little duck hung out right by my feet.
The kids aren't used to seeing boats docked next to our duck feeding spot.
Yesterday was the first beautiful day we had in a while, so I took the kids outside to play. The neighbor boys came over and ran around with the kids for a long time. The kids were exhausted! In fact, they went to bed right away for the first time in forever. Yay!
Adele and Walt in a favorite spot!
I mentioned Walt enjoys practicing going up and down the stairs.
They love playing in, and eating, all the rocks.
Worth the sweep-up!
Walt playing ball
The neighbor boys and my kids running around like happy maniacs.
Here's the kids enjoying singing. Walt's favorite song is "Happy and you know it." But "Head and Shoulders" is a close second.
Walt demonstrating the first line of "Head and Shoulders."
Mama's got some singing skills! I see where the kiddos get their love of music. (Hooray!)
