Life with almost-toddler triplets

More and more I can tell that my kids are triplets. People asked from day one about that 'bond'. I knew it was there, but now I'm starting to see it play out. I'll put them down in a room and within minutes they are right on top of each other. They have nonsensical conversations over and around me. They will all suddenly start making the same hand motion, or this thing they do with their feet, and it obviously means something to them. Sometimes, if Jeff or I participate they laugh. Other times, they just look at us like 'what are you doing? They are really starting to communicate more and more, just not with words. They sit down when I say sit down. They come when I call. They crawl to their high chairs when I say it is time to eat or have milk. They listen and absorb just about everything.
'
I used to bathe the kids individually, but the boys have started insisting on bathing together. They get really upset when I take one into the bath without the other. The other night Jeff wasn't home and Adele decided she wanted in on that, too. She kept trying to crawl into the tub with all of her clothes on.

After bath, I wrap the kids up like little burritos. Adele looks so different, almost more delicate, when you can't see anything but her facial features.

The kids are really into playing games. They like to toss balls back and forth with us. And they also love it when we balance things on their heads or ours. Gordon and Walt will hand me the ring (the blue blur in the photo of Gordon) and then duck their heads so I can put it up there.

Adele has gotten REALLY into Elmo. And she loves the tickle-me-Elmo she got for her birthday.

I bought the kids some coordinating outfits as hand-me-downs from another triplet mom. I just love this photo!!

This morning Jeff was pushing Gordon around in the laundry basket. Of course the other two wanted in on that. He wasn't able to push all 3 for long, but they had a great time!

I mentioned in a prior post the babies aren't feeling well. We still try to get out of the house for walks since we can't go many other places with them having such snotty noses. We got back from our walk the other day and our cleaning ladies were still working on the floors in the family room, so I kept the kids in the stroller for an extra minute. Poor Walt thought he was being tortured!! Don't worry, he was smiling and happy as soon as I put him on the floor to play.

  1. Gordon really loves the camera. LOL. And Walt looks like he will be using his cuteness to try and get what he wants. ;-). Love Adele the burrito.

  2. Joey, this is such an amazing "journey". I'm simply in awe with each photo and your words. These kids take it "all" with cuteness and I have to agree with the above - I LOVE Adele the burrito! You're doing a grand job little one.
