Reading the red...

I had bloodwork taken early this morning (5am) and had the results back by breakfast. My creatinine level remained unchanged from my last test. My BUN number went up by one to 19. That's the one that has a cutoff of 20. Dr Gooch, my OB, is off for the weekend, so the earliest I'll have another blood draw would likely be Tuesday. I wish they would just wait and test on Wed or even Thurs so that I could hit that 33 week date first! But, we'll see.

In the meantime, my contractions have increased in the last week. They are Braxton Hicks (non-painful) so the doctors are just keeping an eye on them and want me to let them know the minute they become painful. And the babies are still doing wonderful with their heartrate monitoring. Dr Gooch's partner stopped by this morning to let me know that she's very impressed by how mature the babies heartrates and responses are tracking. Go, babies!!

From my window, I've seen the life flight helicopter a few times in the sky. On his way in to see me, Jeff happened to catch the copter on take-off. This photo is so impressive for two reasons. 1) It catches the copter lifting off the ground and 2) He took this amazing photo with only a Blackberry!

Thanks for your continued support and love!

  2. I should send you the full-size version. I knew you of all people would appreciate it. I just found out Dr Barry, my MFM, is coming to see me tonight. *fingers crossed* Hopefully he makes it and hopefully he agrees to do another growth scan!!

  3. Woo-hoo! I know you're uncomfortable and eager to get on to the next phase, but I'm so happy things are going so well --for all four of you-- to let them keep cooking.

Btw, saw an expectant mom at Oaks Park preschool party this week that made me think of you. She has a small frame like you, and the baby(ies?) made her tummy stick out so far (like you) that it was oblong rather than round, as if baby is horizontal, feet sticking straight out, instead of vertical. I was amazed she was walking, never mind chasing after her toddler.

Glad your B-H don't hurt. I had no idea I was in labor when I was admitted, and it didn't hurt until 7 hours before he was born, five days later. Hope yours stay painless!

  5. Thanks, Shirley. Oh, that poor woman! I know how she feels.

Michelle -- Isn't that pic so cool? one of the nurses said we should submit it to the hospital so they could use it on their website. LOL!
