Naming triplets...

We never realized how difficult it would be to come up with names for 3 babies. But we eventually did it. Here's our baby names**

Walter Otis
Gordon Leroy
Adele Eileen

My brother joked "Are you giving birth to grandparents or babies?". He was very close, Adele was my maternal grandmother's name and Leroy was Jeff's maternal grandfather. The rest of the names were ones we simply liked. And we did spend a bit of time looking at the most popular names between 1910 and 1920. We both just like old-fashioned names.

** disclaimer - We reserve the right to change the names up until birth certificates are filled out.

We also chose our pediatrician this week. She is in the same network of doctors as my OB and primary care physician, but has her office up here in Round Rock. We met with her yesterday (Friday) and I was very impressed. She was friendly, animated, and immediately started in with the challenges and treatments for preemie babies. Additionally, she's had triplets in the past and currently has a few sets of twins in her care.

I'm so excited about all the things we've crossed off the 'list' this week!

  1. Woo Hoooooo!!! We didn't decide 100% on names until the week or so before the babies came. You're both so far ahead of Ken and I. LOLOLOLOL.

I'm so glad the ped worked out so well for you.

A terrific week all the way around.

  3. T - Jeff says we are still 98%, but I have a feeling they won't change anymore. *laugh*

Melissa -- It was SO hard to come up with 2 different boy names. I don't think it would matter if they were together or years apart. I think naming more than one boy or girl is tough.

  4. Joey love the names and the disclaimer, LOL. Sometimes you get the name then see the baby and change your mind. My newphew Joey and his wife Sarah are going through the same thing. He wanted Murdock then Tucker, he wants to give his son his "dignified old man name" at birth. Sarah doesn't like Murdock and a few people have mentioned how kids will replace the "T" in tucker with other letters in the alphabet...so they are still searching. Good luck and have fun. Morine was thisclose to being Madison. Then we named her for his mom.

  5. Sue -- Is it bad my mind immediately had the same thought as Sarah's with the name Tucker? LOL! I'm curious to see if we pull a birth-time switcheroo on the names.

  6. We had trouble settling on 3 names, too. They had your same disclaimer" for a while, but I really really don't see them changing now. Nearly everyone we've told has asked if they were family names due to their "old time flair". They're just names we liked. :)

  8. Hooray for healthy babies and Mommy! I'm glad things are going well. Now, I know I'm not supposed to play favorites, but Walter was my brother's name. I will have to send that pumpkin an extra something! At least an extra big virtual hug and kiss. *smile*

  9. I'd forgotten that, Cathy!! Well, just another good association of the name "Walter". All the virtual hugs and kisses you can send would be very welcome.
