Grandpa & Grandma S. join us in Adare

The weather report this morning promised a chilly, windy, and possibly rainy day here. But 40 minutes south in Adare, the morning and early afternoon were supposed to be nice.  First we went out to breakfast at Simply Delicious.  Today the boys woke in great moods and Adele was off, but she was happy to eat beans & toast at her favorite place.

We came back home and packed up some extra clothes, diapers, and lunch food, then headed out to Adare.  I lost my Dad (he & Mom were in a separate car) on the way there, but figured we could meet up in town at the *usual* spot. Only when I got to Adare, everything was completely parked full. I've never seen it so busy! It turned out we'd arrived when the Church next to the heritage center was having first communions. Luckily, I found a spot just up the street and my parents lucked into one in the heritage center lot.  We headed straight to the park where the kids ran around for an hour, then we ate lunch.  After lunch, we packed up and headed home.

Now we've got some overtired kids who don't want to nap, but we are placating them with ice cream and the movie Wall-E. *smile* I think we'll have an early bedtime tonight!

Walt quickly discovered it was fun to throw sticks (bark dust) down into the water

All the kids got into the stick throwing

Adele could've done this all day

I tried to run around the other side to get a photo of all the kids and grandparents, but no surprise, Walter followed me.

Eating lunch. The kids did great until it was time to go, then we had a few meltdowns, but luckily we were ready and just hustled everyone out the door.

After the meltdowns in the restaurant, the kids were fascinated by the picnic table outside and calmed right down.
