22 Months old today...

It feels like Gordon has taken another leap in his vocal development this week.  He talks almost non-stop, reciting the alphabet, books we read, and verbalizing what he's doing (ball, catch, bounce, kick.)

Walt has added a few new words to his line-up, his favorite being 'juice.' And if he says it, he gets it. Walt LOVES juice. Though, technically what I give him is water with a splash of juice.

Adele continues to say more and more, too.  In fact, that's her new favorite word (though one she's known for a while), 'more.'  She makes it into a 3 syllable word and often can't tell you what she wants more of, but she says it a lot.

The kids are all starting to play together and interact a lot.  I went to pick them up from the creche, where they were quite happy, and watched them on the monitors for a few minutes. It was fun to see them following each other around and interacting, even as the played with (or around) other kids.  I'm also seeing it a lot at home.  Walter, especially, loves when one of the other kids wants to play the same thing he's playing.

Here are Walt and Gordon playing together.
The place I see the most interactive play is in the bathtub.  They even trade toys.  Walt loves to give Gordon a toy that Gordon wants so that Gordon will say 'thank you.' It is so sweet!

Cuties in the bath tub.
Of course, sometimes their idea of fun isn't the same as mine, but I let them go at it. *grin* Messes aren't too bad to clean up.

And it is so fun to watch their skills grow and develop. They are running around everywhere now, not just walking.  They've even started playing catch with their balls.

Since our toddler playgroup is still on vacation for the summer, we've been meeting up with some of the moms at their houses (and ours.) Walt isn't too into it. In fact, we had to leave our first one early because he and Adele wouldn't stop crying. But this time, Walt was okay as long as he was on my lap and the other two had a blast.

Adele chatting up another mom and little girl.
Of course, playing outside is still one of their favorite things to do.

She held onto these kitchen spatulas the entire morning. Even on our trip to the store.

They were both laughing. Adele at the wind and Gordon at the pure joy of being outside.

Walt loves going up and down this steep incline. He enjoys a challenge!
Of course with play comes bumps and bruises.  Walt has started dancing and spinning.

Today he went for the quadruple and ended up with a header into the cabinets.

Silly boy cried more at the ice pack than the bump on the noggin.

As for more interactive play....

I don't carry a purse much, but I've started to carry one lately so I think this is why Adele finally decided she needed a bag.

She loves making silly faces back and forth.
