Just a few pics...

I don't have any real updates. The babies are feeding, growing, and puking. Their weights this morning were:
Gordon -- 4lb 10oz (my little piggie!!)
Adele - 4lb 2 oz (she's almost back up to her birth weight)
Walter - 3lb 11oz (he's still trying to grow into his skin)

They spit up a lot. The poor nurses! Of course, soon it will be poor me and poor Jeff. *smile*

They all kick and stretch now that they have the room, but Adele is the most active. We say she likes to get in her daily aerobics.

Gordon is definitely the strongest. He can lay on this tummy and pull himself up the bassinet and also lift his head.

Walter still gets the hiccups a lot -- just like in utero. Today he got some comforting from Daddy.

And Walter really enjoys his daddy's big, warm hands.

I thought I'd show how the bay was set up. We have (almost) one whole side of the room to ourselves. As you walk in, you see first Walter, then Gordon's bed.

Then you have Adele to the right of Gordon
That's all for now!

  1. Way to go Berube babies, way to go!!! Walter , Gordon, and Adele are so darn cute. I want to reach out and touch them. Not when they're puking though. Thanks for sharing.

  2. I'm with Tonia - I wanna touch tooooo! Dang they are precious Joey! I think Adele's going to be a clone of her mommie - petite and beautiful! Incredible moments, incredible babies.

  3. I guess I'm surprised they are still under the radiant warmers rather than in incubators. Of course things have likely changed quite a bit since I worked in a unit. We used to use the warmers only for the first 24 hours or while the babies were very critical. Of course they had fewer warmers available back then.

Your babies are doing super well and would have been off the radiant warmers by the second day.

The great thing about the warmers is how easy it is to get to them. It's much more of a challenge in an incubator. LOL. So for you and Jeff, having them on the warmer tables makes it much easier to touch them and learn to take care of them.

As for the puking... welcome to babyland. Just wear old clothes for the next few months. Eventually they stop that. ;-)

  4. I think they must do the opposite here. They start them in the incubators and move them under the warming pans. There is a younger baby here still in an incubator. Mine will very soon be expected to maintain their own temperature with no help except clothes and blankets.

  5. Puking babies... Who knew?

It's great everybody's progressing so quickly. Although I think I'd fight to keep a warming pan for my butt.
