Down for the count...

I'm officially in the hospital for bedrest. I have mild preeclampsia (pregnancy induced hypertension). There are 3 signals for this -- high blood pressure, bad liver/kidney blood work, or protein the urine. I have only one of the three, the protein. And my levels are only 'high', not 'dangerous'. They are running a 24 hour test today through tomorrow, then they will repeat that test in 3 days. If those tests stay steady and the two other markers (blood pressure and blood work) stay low/normal, then I'll get sent home in a week, but on 100% bedrest.

If anything changes at all, I'll be here until the babies need to be delivered. At this point, I'm okay with either choice, though Jeff and I would prefer if I went home, but I just want the babies to be able to 'cook' as long as possible.

Overall, I feel great! So don't worry about me. The nurses are spoiling me and I've got my laptop, books, and a tv. I don't feel sick at all. But I do appreciate the thoughts and prayers you can send my way so my condition can remain the same and the babies can get a few more weeks in the womb.

  2. Thanks, Tonia. Sorry I missed your call last night! I had left my cell in the other room and didn't see the missed call until pretty late. My best to you. Right now, I'm just enjoying being spoiled.

  3. It will be a lot easier for you if you stay at the hospital, even though home would be nice. Just being fed and having someone with you 24/7 is a good thing. Have fun "cooking". Nice that you have your laptop to keep you "same".

  4. Thanks, Rosemary. I also have a tv & good books to keep me company. *smile* I do love the ease of the hospital, but I miss the comfort of my own bed. And my own bathroom! *grin*

  5. Aunt Rosemary is 100% right Joey! Get spoiled! In the meantime, see, I have a special "connection" - my angel/my sister who I talk to all the time and I KNOW she has God's ear (and He'll listen to her a lot better than ME cause lord knows I'm a sinner :- ) So I shall talk to her a lot from now till the little one's arrive and I'm sending you HUGE ((VIC-HUGS)) every single day. Thanks for keeping us posted. Who said one can't thrive on getting spoiled! Do it! Love & ((HUGS)) ~Vic~

  6. Joey, I'm so glad you are getting such good care. You just take care of yourself and those babies wherever that's best. If you stay in the hospital and get waited on 24/7 just think of how much farming you can get done! Or writing!

    Love, Maggie

  8. So sorry to hear that you are in the hospital. Know it isn't where you would like to be but they will take good care of you and the babies there. Time for lots of TLC for you and those little ones. You, Jeff and the babies are in our thoughts and prayers.
    Love,
    Steve and Mary

  9. Vic -- thank you so much. And tell your angel sister thanks from me, too!

Maggie-- Today was so hectic I barely got to turn on my laptop. LOL! Hopefully things will smooth out from here now that I've been moved into my permanent room and out of labor & delivery

Darlene -- I am very happy. I had a rough night last night in L&D because they got bombarded with in-labor & emergency c-section moms, but now I am tucked in ante-partum where I fit (and it is much quieter)

Mary -- I'd love to be at home, but not that I've been moved to my permanent room, I'm much better. I think this is almost harder on Jeff than it is on me. Thanks for the thoughts & prayers.
